Election Day is Almost Here
This is the first time I have ever relied on public votes. In fact, this is the first election for both my opponent and I. Since, she was appointed to Granite School Board back in 2020. So, I thought I would share an experience out on the campaign trail. Overall, the experience has been very positive. I only had one negative experience.
A woman opened her door and said, “What are you selling?” Well, I am running for Granite School Board. She asked, “ Are you a teacher?” I said yes. She said, “ I will never vote for a teacher!” She then quickly slammed the door in my face. My husband and I froze for a moment. We looked at each other and quickly left her porch. I am not sure why I got that reaction, however, even if she is going to vote for my opponent, you can still have manners. I have to laugh at it now.
I have loved❤️ talking to people out on the campaign trail. Although, I put in for candidacy back in March, this time has gone by so fast. So, now, like Europe sang, It’s the Final Count Down. Ger your ballot turned in on Tuesday, November 8. I am going to vote in person this year. It has been so long since I have done that, I want to experience that old process. Voting in person feels more genuine. Perhaps I will see you there!
